Please note that the annual Lake of the Woods Minor Hockey Constitution meeting will be held Monday, April 23rd at the Meeting Room, Kenora Recreation Centre at 6:30 pm.
This is the only time that changes can be made to the minor hockey constitution, so if you have any suggestions for changes, they must be brought forward at this meeting to be voted on at the Annual General Meeting.

INFO RE: HOCKEY CANADA MEDICAL/DENTAL INSURANCE COVERAGE
Date: August 24, 2009 Author: Carla Cranston
As per the attached communication from HNO, Hockey Canada is strictly a supplemental insurer. If you have access to any other insurance, you must pursue it through them first. There are no payments for any non-resident who plays hockey in Canada without some form of primary coverage
Hockey Canada has done some testing and now say that the "STOP" stickers can be applied to helmets. We have ordered some and will be distributing them to all minor players early next season.
The Safety Towards Other Players (STOP) Program began in Windsor eleven years ago in hopes of raising awareness of the dangers of checking from behind in hockey.
Anticipation was high and the crowds were buzzing this past weekend as the Keewatin Place Blues atom team prepared to play their Moms in the annual Mom’s Game Classic at the Kenora Recreation Centre.

Please take a minute to review the short video on the link below and think if you've ever been sucked in by the "magic helmet" mentality. Powerful message from a smart kid.
We are always wanting to welcome fresh faces to our organization. We are currently looking for people to serve on the current Tournament Sponsorship committee as there will be one retirement from that committee at the end of the season. Now would be a good time to come on board and see what's involved.
