final in Vermillion Bay on November 17th and 18th 2007.
They had great fun and great success in the tournament.
We want to clear up a rumour that has been circulating that there isn't any body checking in Peewee this year. You may have read a story in the paper or heard it on the radio that the Ontario Hockey Federation has removed bodychecking in house league and rec hockey. But the Ontario Hockey Federation is not our governing body – ours is Hockey Northwest Ontario (HNO). There is still body checking in our association, in fact in all associations governed by HNO until such a time that HNO decides to change it
TAGG's PEEWEE "THUNDER" WINS SECOND TOURNAMENT GOLD IN RED LAKE!

The "Thunder" rolled loudly this past weekend in Red Lake, Ontario. Kenora Tagg's Peewee Thunder won the Gold Medal in the A-Side Final on Sunday, defeating the home-town Red Lake Legion.
KEEWATIN PLACE BLUES WIN ATOM CHAMPIONSHIP IN OVERTIME (JAN 24, 2010)

The Keewatin Place Blues Atom hockey team captured the B-side championship in Sioux Lookout this weekend a 5-4 sudden-death overtime victory against the Dryden Tigers. Playing 4 on 4 and with just over a minute left in the overtime period, Ben Nieminen completed an end-to-end rush with a high-speed deke to seal the victory for the Blues, and then was promptly mobbed by his team in the ensuing celebratory mayhem! The Tigers had sent the game into overtime just a few minutes earlier by scoring as the buzzer sounded in the third period to tie the game at 4!
A 16 year old hockey player in Nakina (east of Thunder Bay) died on January
11th after an on ice collision during the warm-up for a routine pickup game.
