Third time's a charm for Golden Penguins and Red Devils Bronze In Fort Frances!

Novice Penguins Gold and Red Devils Bronze in Fort Frances!
The Novice Penguins finally claimed the gold in their third visit to a tournament final this season. The Penguins went 2-1 in the Round robin defeating Emo 4-0, and Fort Frances 8-0 and losing only to International Falls 4-1. They then met the 2-1 Novice Red Devils in the 2 vs 3 semi and moved on to the final with a 3-0 win over their cross-town rivals. They rechallenged the team from International Falls in the finals. They were leading 3-2 when the falls tied it up with 39.5 sec left in the third. The game went through 5 minutes overtime and ended in a shoot out with Sydney White and Jordyn Borgeois scoring for the Penguins to claim gold. Sydney White had the hat trick and Maren Turner had the other goal in the game.
The Red Devils claimed the bronze with a 5-1 win over the Fort Frances Timbits. Jamie Ricklefs had two for the Red Devils cause.
The Novice White-Out placed 5th with a win 3-2 over time win over Emo.
The Atom Warriors were 2nd in their pool and challenged the Fort Frances Rolling Lake Lightning for Bronze. Unfortunately they were unable to find the net and placed 4th with a 2-0 loss. Also the Atom Flyers achieved 5th with their 2-0 win over Nipigon.
